Contemplation is a privilege.
It means you have time to sit down and think. And not just think but go deep in your thought allowing ideas and connections and metaphors float to the surface.
It means you poured a cup of tea, picked up a book and sat down. After reading for some time, you set the book aside and while the cup is steaming you let the minutes go by and you truly thought. Noone was running your mind nor your life in that moment. Noone but God, imagination and you.
This is something only the richest of us can afford: true and deep contemplation of life.
And what about writing? Is it not the richest man hobby? Nothing to do with money. Only time and space and the true feeling that you can afford putting words on paper over and over again until some of them make sense.
